Irving Shipbuilding, located at 3099 Barrington Street Halifax NS B3K 5M7, is part of the J.D. Irving Group of companies and is in the business of building quality ships and repairing vessels. The company's primary site is Halifax Shipyard, with three other locations in the Maritime Provinces. Irving Shipbuilding is currently working on a number of significant projects for the Department of National Defense and the Canadian Coast Guard. This is a temporary, full-time staff role based in Halifax, N.S.
Irving Shipbuilding Inc.(ISI) is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the following temporary Human Resources Coordinator opportunity.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the HR Coordinator will apply industrial expertise, energy and strategic /operational capabilities to deliver Best In Class performance fit for the 21st century.
Responsibilities
HRIS system and reporting
Day to day activities needed to ensure systems are maintained by validating and entering information
Reconcile employee data to ensure all systems are in sync
Process daily transactions as directed
Create and maintain scheduled and ad hoc reporting
Update and maintain the HR scorecard, metrics and KPIs and the corporate scorecard
HR support
Provides administrative support throughout the recruitment and selection process
Input requisitions and invoices into the system
Assist with the employee onboarding program, including IT set ups and probationary review tracking
Coordinate the employee engagement survey process including serving as the primary point-of-contact for the administration, distribution, tracking and collection of surveys, preparing reports, tracking action plans, etc.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education
Previous experience working in a fast paced, customer focus environment
Demonstrated experience in data analysis and reporting
Senior level skills with MS Office
Ability to prioritize changing workloads
Strong team player, able to work effectively with diverse customer groups
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Previous experience in HCM or HRIS would be considered an asset
